There are two possible connections for bus and ferry.
- Bus line TD4 from the airport (€3) to the high-speed ferry in Valletta (every 30 minutes, approx. 20 minutes travel time) or
- Bus line TD1 from the airport (€3) to the ferry to Cirkewwa (hourly, approx. 1 ¼ hours travel time – depending on traffic)

Tip: Bus travel works very well on the island. Payment is preferably by credit card, or you can purchase a “Tallinja Card” (https://www.publictransport.com.mt/fares-and-tickets/ ) at the airport. The “Explore” option costs €25 for 7 days and is valid for all bus lines – unless you are renting a car, this is the best option.
The high-speed ferry does not run all the time (weather, time) and costs €7.50: https://gozohighspeed.com/ . Please note: senior citizens are eligible for a reduced fare; please show your ID card or passport. Please note: this ferry is for pedestrians and luggage only. The ferry from Cirkewwa costs “nothing” on the outward journey; payment (€4.65 for passengers) is only required on the return journey: https://www.gozochannel.com/ .
If you decide to rent a car from Luqa: Malta has left-hand traffic and heavy traffic, so you should think carefully before taking this step. The car rental companies (be sure to make a reservation during the high season) can be reached by keeping to the right after leaving the terminal. You will then see a large parking garage, cross the street, and follow the well-maintained footpath. Please note: in this case, you must take the ferry from Cirkewwa, as the high-speed ferry only carries passengers and luggage.
From Mgarr Harbor, those who wish to do so can take bus lines 301 (best connection), 323, or 303 (long detour, not recommended) to Victoria, where you then have to take line 311 or 312 to get to Gharb (https://www.publictransport.com.mt/routes-timetables-view-all-routes/ ). If you take route 311, get off at the Dbiegi stop (at Crafts Village); if you take route 312, get off at the Brajtu stop.

From there it’s just a few meters further on foot until you reach your destination. Our apartment is on the third floor, and there is an elevator, so climbing the stairs is only necessary for exercise or in the event of a power outage.
If you arrive before 9:00 p.m., one of our friends will hand over the apartment to you and explain a few details. The keys for your stay are deposited in the apartment and are then available to you. If it is necessary to use the key safe, we will send you a separate information sheet.
